What would be the appropriate level to attend an Intensive Language Camp/Course?

I’ve been invited to do an intensive language course for the University of Chicago. The problem is, I only have a second year Spanish to my name, and I plan on taking Japanese when I get into college. Do Summer courses like that expect one to have a certain capability?

It depends on the program. If they have invited you they should be able to provide you with the prerequisites. An intensive course is probably also and immersion course, which would help you improve your language skills regardless of your current ability.
