I took the practice exams for the CLEP Spanish exam from REA and Peterson. Which is more accurate?
The Peterson exam score was drastically different. I got close to a 60 on the REA exam, but I scored a 77 on the Peterson’s exam. The REA seemed to focus more on the subjunctive tenses. Does anyone know if the Peterson’s exam represents the actual exam? If so, I think I am ready to take it. If the REA is more representative of the CLEP exam, then I need to study more.
Hi there,
From everything I’ve read, it falls somewhere in the middle. Common opinion seems to be that the actual exam is more difficult than the Peterson’s, but not as hard as the REA practice tests.
You may want to run through the REA a few more times, but I’d say you’re probably very close to being ready for the real thing.
I’ve got some free resources here you can brush up on, but you probably don’t need them at this point.

Let me know how you did if you get the chance. I’ll be interested to see what the final score is compared to the two different practice exams. You can reach me at the below site.
Good luck!
