How I can control my addiction to rubber ball for dogs?

He is a former Boston 4 years / Rat Terrier who is obsessed with game search. We run outside and throw the ball to him every day (which will continue to run until it drops dead if allowed). Even when we within it constantly complains about his ball and everyone is harassing the cast. He has other things to play and chew, but not satisfying enough time. We love our dogs, but can become boring. Need help!

Sorry, but the truth is a Boston terrier is a very active dog and needs plenty of exercise. This is only part of his nature. That will not change. There is no way to solve this problem unless we can find another way to get him the needed exercise. Several races are like that, Jack Russell Terrier, Bichon Frise et al. If you can not take the time to provide the exercise you need, I hate to say it, but you're wrong dog breed personality. You need a lap dog.
