Is it possible to connect scart to computer screen?
Hi, Im just wondering if its possible to connect the output scart from my sky box to a flat screen computer monitor (I think its called a vga input). Basically I want to connect them so I can put the Monitor in the kitchen and play whatever we’re watching in the living room, and the only spare monitor i have is a computer screen.
Thanks for your answers
Ian
Hi Ian,
Yes, in theory you could do this – look at these leads below:
http://www.selectgadget.co.uk/sg/index.html?s=28BCACDB3F3FB865C157C44949D235BB&p=51679ce3738a69b94d40325e0e3d57db&m=1224758551811&a=/products&categoryid=28&stockid=460
There are a few problems though:
These are for doing it the other way – i.e. taking a signal from a PC to display on a TV. You will need a male-male gender bender to connect to the monitor.
A computer monitor doesn’t have the correct resolution to display TV pictures, so the whole screen won’t be used. Nearest resolution is 640×480. Probably not worth all the hassle, as you could buy a cheap LCD TV in Asda or Tesco for £100.
