Why does my new aftermarket head-unit play at low volume?
I have a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica and I just installed a Dual XDVD8130 along with a wiring harness that allows me to use my factory amp. Everything works like it should except for the volume. I have to max the volume out on the headunit in order to hear it, and you still can’t hear it over the A/C. I’m looking for any help avail. Could it be that the unit isn’t that great and I need to get something better?
I think it would be considered both. The way it works is: The headunit connects to a wiring harness – This harness connects to a box- then another from the box to the vehicle harness. In addition the pre-amp outputs for front and rear are used for navigation.
Before the harness I got no sound. With the harness I get sound, but it’s low. I have no clue…this harness cost over $100.
PROBLEM SOLVED! There was an input adjustment level on the harness module. I called metra tech support and they helped me figure out the issue.
Thanks
I know this is the wrong year but it should be the same http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp~TID~85971
Your problem sounds to me that there is some thing going on with the remote turn on wire for your factory amp, make sure that the blue wire from the head unit is going to the pink and organge wire that goes to the amp, or use a jumper wire from the red wire to the pink and orange wire, that’s really more of just get it to work thing.
